End of an Era

Okay, so it's not really an 'era', but it was over a year of non-stop work, usually 80-100 hours/week.

First I designed the characters for the animated series, The Future is Wild at Nelvana animation. That show is airing in mid-October on Discovery Kids in the U.S., and then January on Teletoon here in Canada. Check out the teaser on the Discovery Kids website.

When I finished on that show in January, I formed Replaced by Robots and we landed a contract to do the art & animation for the Mountain Dew Transform Your Summer website and game promoting the Transformers movie.

That took us until June, during which time I also did the designs and animation for a Flash surfing game for Mountain Dew's Baja Blast.

During the summer I worked on various Pepsi projects including Halo 3 and Madden '08.

Now however, it's all coming to a close. After today all of my contracts will be completely finished and with the exception of a comicbook I'm prepping for January I'll have nothing to do. It's going to be awesome! I'm buying a stack of sketchbooks today and I'm going to do nothing but draw for the next three months (if I can help it).

I'm sure there'll be a few projects that pop up, but I don't think I'll be falling back into my 80 hour week routine. So look forward to seeing lots of new artwork.

Sketchbook

There are a couple projects coming up next month and at the start of next year that are going to be pretty exciting. And I'm hoping to coincide them with a sketchbook that I'm going to get published and sell at the ComiCon next summer.

Included will be designs for those projects I mentioned, as well as some new personal art, and also some redesigns of old pieces that I thought were great at the time, but really haven't stood up. Here's an example:
