Workin!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted anything in months ... and months ... and months. I've been crazy busy in my new role as Animation Director at Spin here in Toronto. Yep ... got me a title and erverything.

Anyhoo, here's something I drew while some stuff was rendering. Thanks for checking back!

Boothed!

Got confirmation yesterday that I'm going to have a booth in Artist's Alley at the 2009 San Diego ComiCon!

I'm pretty psyched since I was expecting it to be a couple of years before I would get in. I'm also freaked out because my sketchbook which I would love to show off there isn't done yet. Yikes...

Anyways, hopefully I can find some time between work, freelance and some other things I need to clear off my plate to do some drawing ... and some posting ... on this blog.

I've posted my cover artwork on a bunch of forums, including conceptart.org, cgtalk, and the drawingboard and everyone seems really positive about it. Thanks for taking the time to view it and comment. I'm definitely going to be focusing more in the direction of that style from now on, at least for my personal work.

I've spent the last few years kind of floating when it comes to what my 'style' is. Not having one came in handy for work, since I could do whatever the client wanted, but I found it difficult to really look at my work and think of it as mine.

Anyways, here are some sketches from the Sunday Subway Sketch Group which I actually attended this week (and hope to make into a regular habit).

Each year I redo an illustration I first did in college of a samurai with a flaming sword. This year, I also made the illustration the cover for my artbook. Hope you like it!
