Sorry it's been so long since my last post. It's been a pretty crazy month work-wise. I designed the characters for two new shows (which I can't show yet ... booo), did the next issue of Sushi and prepped for a couple upcoming projects. One of those projects is a series of animated shorts!

My Directory of Illustration portfolio has finally been updated. You can check it out here.

There's a bit of a lull now so I was able to get some personal illustrations done recently.

This is a samurai girl I illustrated last night and this morning.

And this one was an illustration I did for Andrea and I's 3rd anniversary. She really likes photo booths.

I'm starting to watch some Massive Black and Gnomon tutorial videos in an attempt to get awesome at drawring by the end of the year. Everything I've seen so far talks about the importance of doing lots of preliminary thumbnails and concept sketches before attempting a finished painting. I've got a concept in mind, and I plan on using the next few days to flesh out the designs further.

Comic-Con 2008 & Sketchbook Pro 2009

Comic-con was awesome this year. Met some great people, went to some great parties and got to pick up some really nice art books. Met Mark Hamill at the Gotham Group party. He's a cool guy, we chatted about the Batman animated series (he did the voice of the Joker).

Anyways, I picked up SBP 2009 a couple weeks ago. Tonight was the first time I could really sink my teeth into it (if only for an hour) and I really really like it. I'm putting together my sketchbook to sell next year, and I think I'm going to be adding a lot of digital sketches to it.

Tried to update to the 2.0 and bricked it. Finally got it back to just being broken and not being useless, so now I just need to wait for someone to release some 2.0 hacking software.

Diablo 3 was announced this week. That game, besides being fairly hack & slashy, always sparked my imagination and resulted in lots of artwork, both fanart and otherwise.

Here are some designs from a project that never really went anywhere. I actually worked on preliminary designs for this show, and then was called back a year later after they'd been through several other designers. What it ended up looking like was nothing near my original designs, but they were (in my opinion) a lot better.

Some definite earlyish Lambey influence on these.. thanks for being awesome Steve!

Hey everyone, sorry the site was down for most of the past month. I was working on a big project, and didn't have time to fix my site when I had to switch my hosting.

Anyways, things are slowly getting back to normal. My six-page monthly comic book, The Sushi Adventures is hitting shelves in June as part of Kono Magazine. It'll be action-packed, and hopefully you get a chance to see it. If not, tap your younger cousin taking karate. He'll probably be able to get his hands on one.
